[It’s fate with “Singer’s Ballad”]
Bigbang the monster group with high popularity in Asia, D-LITE a member of
Bigbang, will be releasing his J-pop solo album. What’s the untold stories
behind the production process of his solo album?
TV LIFE: In the 10 songs in the cover album, all the songs are personally
selected by D-LITE. Saito Kazuyoshi, MISIA, JUJU, Sunny Hill, Remioromen etc,
songs that are sung by different artists, gender, and genre.
D-LITE: Staff members recommended me more than 100 songs, I chose songs that I
personally wanted to sing and songs that emotes emotions when I sing it. The
toughest thing during recording was thinking of how to add my colors in to the
songs. As the original songs are already perfect, so I was a little worried in
the beginning, but I manage to complete a piece of work that I am satisfied
with in the end.
TV LIFE: Which song do you feel the most for?
D-LITE: “Singer’s Ballad”. Actually this wasn’t a song in the recommendation
list. I heard of this song during surfing internet and I chanced upon Mr.
Children’s Kazutoshi Sakurai and Hideya Suzuki san’s cover of the song. I did
more researched and I found the original song… I feel that this is fate.
TV LIFE: You seem to show the members your MV for “Singer’s Ballad” before.
D-LITE: During BIGBANG ALIVE WORLD TOUR in Seoul, I watched the MV with
everybody, when the members saw me in the video, they said “it’s really sweet
oh~”. I didn’t know why but I got shy as well, so I watched it halfway and I
stopped. Of course, the other four also stopped watching the video… In the end,
nobody watched the full video (laugh).
TV LIFE: You had such good relationship with the members but you had to leave
them and stay in Japan yourself for your solo album.
D-LITE: After completing a day of discussion and recording I went back to my
room, I will think back of what happened during the day and soak myself in the
bathtub while listening to music (laugh). I like soaking myself in water since
last time oh. Usually I will soak for 20-30 minutes. If there is time, I will
go out for dinner with my manager. I love to eat sushi, so I go to sushi
restaurants frequently. I like mackerel fish!
